Risk of showers and thunderstorms could impact flood-prone areas

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Storm Team 2 is still in weather alert as many inland communities are dealing with flood issues, meteorologists say another chance of showers and thunderstorms could be underway.

“Remember where we are right now, with so much rain over the past week anything that develops will increase the flooding threat again,” said Meteorologist Josh Marthers.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid-90s in the afternoon. Marthers adds the feel-like temperatures will be between 105-110.

“We’ll going to be a little bit of a break from the heat with high temperatures falling to near or just below normal by the time we get to Thursday, Friday, Saturday – that’s also going to come with some dryer air,” said Marthers.

The probability of rain will increase after the lunch hour, the highest risk being between 4 – 6 p.m.
