(WWJ) — A 22-year-old Detroit man has been charged with shooting a 7-year-old boy in Inkster last month.

Announcing the charges Monday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Antwon Tyree Williams was arraigned on Aug. 7 on six felony counts, including discharge in a building causing injury.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. on July 15, according to the prosecutor’s office. Inkster police officers responding to an apartment at the Dearborn View Apartments found the young boy with a gunshot wound to his chest.
