Louisiana ag commissioner says it may take crawfish industry up to 5 years to recover from drought

Coming off a devastating year for the crawfish industry in Acadiana due to drought, we wondered about how the current heat might impact next season’s harvest. “We were in a great drought,” said Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain. “A drought we haven’t seen in generations.” Commissioner Mike Strain said it could take years for crawfish farmers to recover from last year’s droughts.
