Woman faces murder, attempted murder charges in shooting near Loris Bojangles

LORIS, S.C. (WBTW) — A 33-year-old woman is facing murder and attempted murder charges in last week’s shooting at a Loris Bojangles, according to arrest warrants obtained by News13.

Lilly Janealle Stephens of Tabor City, North Carolina, was charged with one count each of murder and attempted murder. She was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center at about 11:20 a.m. on Monday.

The shooting happened Aug. 7 near a Bojangles on Walnut Street , an arrest warrant shows. Stephens and other co-defendants allegedly attempted to assault two people while in a vehicle. During the assault, a gun was produced and about 11 shots were fired, killing Kenasia Martin, 22, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and injuring another.

Stephens was arrested in Columbus County, North Carolina, shortly after the shooting. She remains in jail in Horry County without bond.
