Richmond police warn residents about door-to-door scam

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department is warning residents about a door-to-door scam that has been witnessed in the West End.

In a Facebook post today, Richmond police shared there has been an old-fashioned door-to-door scam taking place mainly in the West End area recently.

Police confirmed that there was a fraudulent individual going door-to-door asking for charity donations for a “reading program.”

Richmond Police Department would like to warn residents to research organizations’ before donating to them.
