Investigation starts after reports of attempted kidnappings on first day of school in North Dallas

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Dallas City Councilwoman Cara Mendelsohn is warning parents in North Texas against letting their children walk or ride their bikes alone this early in the school year.

In a post published to social media platform X, Mendelsohn shares that there were two attempted child abductions on the first day of school near the schools Hillcrest & Campbell and JJ Pearce High School in Richardson.

Mendelsohn said there was footage of the attempted abductions showing they were two unrelated events of suspects in two different vehicles. No children were hurt in either incident.

Dallas PD have started the investigation after Mendelsohn shared this information. They have identified the two vehicles involved and a suspect.

The suspect is identified as a young Hispanic male in a white SUV. The second possible vehicle could be a dark-colored Chevy pick-up truck.
