Dangerous Heat and Humidity Continues

A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued across the state Wednesday with an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING in eastern Oklahoma. The heat index will range from 105 to 112 degrees. Highs will climb to the upper 90s to lower 100s with a breezy south wind. Isolated storms could develop in northwestern Oklahoma late Wednesday afternoon and evening. A few could be strong to severe. Widely scattered showers and storms may move across northern Oklahoma early Thursday. As a cold front approaches Thursday, scattered showers and storms will develop across the state, depending on where the front sets up. A few storms could be severe with up to quarter size hail and 60 to 80 mph winds. The dangerous heat will dominate through next week with the hottest day on Monday. Long range data suggests that a cold front could bring relief towards the end of next week. Stay safe and keep cool!
