2 residences, sheds destroyed during two-alarm structure fire in Ridgecrest: KCFD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A two-alarm structure fire in Ridgecrest destroyed two residences, a condemned structure and multiple sheds Tuesday, according to the Kern County Fire Department.

On Aug. 13, KCFD firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the 100 block of W. Wilson Avenue, just after 12:30 p.m. Officials at the scene found a house engulfed in flames with the fire spreading to nearby structures and power lines.

The blaze proved to be troublesome for KCFD as triple-digit temperatures, belongings scattered across the yard, falling power lines and a collapsed roof complicated fire officials from extinguishing the flames, officials said.
