St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway helps kids like Jessica, who learned she had cancer at the age of 2

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – KSN is working to raise $1 million for children who get treatment at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with a Dream Home Giveaway.

A $100 ticket will enter you to win a five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home in northeast Wichita. The home is complete with a gourmet kitchen, a full basement with a bar, a large patio out back, and high-end appliances throughout.

Many local patients have received treatment at St. Jude, like 6-year-old Jessica.

Back in July 2020, Jessica began to have stomach aches. Her parents took her to a pediatrician, who thought she was just constipated and suggested Jessica take some medicine and see how the weekend pans out.

Over the weekend, Jessica’s stomach aches turned into vomiting, so her parents took her back to the pediatrician, where an X-ray was performed, as well as an ultrasound.

“It was during COVID, so I was the only one able to go in with her to the doctor’s office, and Tanner sat in the car and waited,” said Annie, Jessica’s mother. “Her doctor came in, and he had this serious look on his face, and he told me, ‘Mom, you’ve got to be strong for her.’”
