Pro-Palestine protest groups at OSU facing fines, suspension

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University has fined and suspended two groups of pro-Palestine protestors who set up camp on the OSU campus for several weeks back in May. OSU has suspended Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights (SUPER) for three years and Young Democratic Socialists of America for one year as recognized student organizations. University officials said the camp that protestors set up violated the academic code of conduct. They also fined those two groups and one student $3,000 total for damage to the grass on the Memorial Union quad. That fine is due by December 15.
