At least four teams reportedly spoke with the Patriots about a Matthew Judon trade

After months of trying to agree to a contract extension, the New England Patriots sent Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick.

However, the Falcons weren’t the only team involved in the trade discussions.

According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson , New England also spoke to the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins, who could both use the help on the edge. Wilson also said the Houston Texans inquired about Judon’s services as well.

It would be interesting to hear what the Dolphins offered, considering they are a division opponent. Did they offer the same return, but the Patriots were willing to accept Atlanta’s offer because they are in the NFC?

Judon may have said the right things at the beginning, but his story was a distraction, whether his now former teammates and coaches will admit it or not. It’s good that New England was able to get back as much as they did, considering the player is older, coming off of an injury and everyone knew the negotiations hadn’t been going well.
