Missouri governor candidates attend Ham Breakfast, agree to debate

SEDALIA, Mo. — Less than 12 weeks remain until Missouri voters go to the polls, where they’ll choose a new governor.

Outgoing Governor Mike Parson and his right hand man, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, met with voters on Thursday at the Missouri State Fair in Pettis County. A packed house awaited them for the governor’s annual Ham Breakfast on Thursday morning at the state fairgrounds.

Both officials spent time with voters at the breakfast and at a groundbreaking for a new pavilion at the fairgrounds.

Gov. Parson continues to praise Lt. Governor Kehoe and his chance at winning the vote in November’s election. Lt. Gov. Kehoe won nearly 40 percent of the vote in the August 6th primary to become the GOP’s gubernatorial candidate.

He’ll face Democratic nominee Crystal Quade for the right to become Missouri’s 58th governor.

“He’s a hard worker. He’s going to spend a lot of time up there. I’m telling you — now that I’ve set in the seat of governor fox six years, it’s never about your last name. I always try to tell people. It’s always about the seat of governor,” Gov. Parson said on Thursday.
