Irvington teen dies after Mobile County crash, vehicle fire

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG ) — An Irvington teenager is dead following a crash that ended in a vehicle fire, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Officials said the teen was identified as 19-year-old Ernest Mills.

According to ALEA, Mills died in the crash that happened around 10 a.m. on Aug. 9 on the Jim McNeil Loop Extension near North Jim McNeil Loop Road.

ALEA said the single-vehicle crash involved Mills’ 2012 Suzi Equator pickup truck. The truck left the roadway, hit a tree, and caught fire, according to crash reports.

Mills was pronounced dead on the scene.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the crash.
