More than 5,000 Coastal Carolina students start moving in for fall semester

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Incoming freshman and new students at Coastal Carolina University began arriving to campus Thursday morning.

The residence assistants helped families unload their car, put their stuff in carts and bring it to their dorm rooms. They also helped with parking and the shuttle system.

The campus’s unloading system has been described as easy, quick, manageable, and not stressful.

“It’s been really smooth the entire time so far. People kind of just rolled in, we’ve had music going, so the vibes have been going,” RA Caleb Cox said. “We’ve kind of just been dancing, hanging out, getting people in. They’ll unload on the tables, our lovely friends from Chanacrew are getting stuff off the table, getting it into carts and bringing them upstairs, then unloading and then back outside.”

About 5,400 students will be moving in through the course of the next four days. Classes will start Wednesday.
