San Jose firefighters put out vegetation fire

(KRON) — Firefighters in San Jose knocked down a vegetation fire that burned through eight acres.

The “100x100ft” fire was reported 3:30 p.m. Thursday at North 1 st Street and Component Drive. Forward progress of the blaze was stopped an hour later, confirmed the San Jose Fire Department.

SJPD said there were no injuries or nearby structures damaged in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
