PFAS, mercury found in groundwater costs Kalamazoo extra $1.8M in paper mill project

KALAMAZOO, MI — Work on a new $3.9 million pipeline to take waste from Graphic Packaging International to the city’s water reclamation plant is underway. Officials say the new pipeline will reduce odor and air pollution by eliminating the splash of wastewater as it enters the city’s wastewater treatment facility – which is right next door.
