Development of new terminal at Mobile International Airport progresses after $7 million+ grant

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Development of a terminal at the Mobile International Airport is coming along, and officials say a grant is helping with that.

According to a press release, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Airport Infrastructure Grant program awarded over $7 million to the Mobile Airport Authority.

Officials said the $7,510,599 awarded will directly support the ongoing development of the new terminal at Mobile International Airport. That terminal was announced in May along with a parking garage project on MAA’s website .

”This grant reinforces our commitment to building a state-of-the-art terminal at Mobile International Airport,” Mobile Airport Authority President Chirs Curry said. ”The new terminal is key to accommodating future growth and driving economic development in the region. We’re excited about our partnership with FAA as we continue to work towards the completion of our transformative project.”
