Adaptive Surf Project Hosts Wheel to Surf Event at Surfside Beach

The Adaptive Surf Project (ASP) will host a Wheel to Surf event on Saturday, September 7th at 13th Ave. South in Surfside, SC. Wheel to Surf is a surf clinic for individuals who happen to have a disability. With trained volunteers and specially modified surfboards, becoming a surfer and riding the waves is within reach of anyone willing to try. ASP will have surfers who ride tandem, prone, and seated, as well as standing. ASP will take partipants who are new to surfing, or looking for a chance to get back in the water in a new way.

“Living with a disability shouldn’t disqualify you from that chance. At Adaptive Surf Project, we know that with enough teamwork and imagination nothing is impossible,” Brock Johnson ADP Founder said. “So we’ve come together to radically reimagine who has access to the joy of surfing.”
