KALAMAZOO, Mich. – August 15, 2024 marks three years since West Michigan lost Ryan Proxmire, a Kalamazoo County Sheriff Deputy who was killed in the line of duty. Proxmire’s final patrol ended while he was protecting a community he dedicated a quarter of his life to. He was shot during a high-speed chase at the intersection of MN Avenue and 38th Street in Climax Township on Aug. 14, 2021.
