Moses Zapien steps down from San Joaquin Community Foundation: ‘It has been an honor’

The San Joaquin Community Foundation is searching for a new leader after the departure of Moses Zapien, who recently announced that he has accepted a new nonprofit position in the Bay Area.

Zapien served as chief executive officer and president of the San Joaquin Community Foundation for seven years. He was tapped to replace former Chief Executive Officer and President Linda Philipp after she retired in 2017.

The foundation supports local charities and connects nonprofit leaders with critical trainings, services, and support so they can build capacity to achieve their goals.

“It has been an honor to serve the San Joaquin community and to work alongside such dedicated staff and board members, donors, and nonprofit organizations. I am deeply grateful for the support and collaboration that have made our initiatives successful,” Zapien said. “As I embark on this new journey with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, I carry with me the lessons and inspirations from San Joaquin, and I look forward to continuing to make a difference.”
