Resort report: Jewish Federation hosts annual ‘In The Hamptons’ event for supporters

The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County took its donor outreach on the road with a northward trek to see its summering donors.

The annual “Palm Beach In The Hamptons” reception took place Aug. 1 at The Bridge Golf Club in Bridgehampton, New York.

Richard and Susan Friedman were chairman and chairwoman for the event, which included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a preview of the 2024-2025 season, and a spotlight on the significant work led by its Palm Beach Center to Combat Antisemitism and Hatred.

The center, co-chaired by Steven Tananbaum and Richard Friedman, is focused on combating antisemitism and rising hate in Palm Beach County through advocacy, leadership, security and educational outreach. This initiative has become the model for other communities across the country.

Matthew Kernkraut , the federation’s executive vice president, shared news of major successes from the past year, including a Community Leaders Tour to Israel for non-Jewish leaders, grants to increase security at Jewish schools and institutions, and advocacy to create stronger legal consequences for hate speech.
