Juney’s early life was marred by severe trauma. He was beaten and brutally attacked with a machete, leaving him with a fractured jaw and significant damage to his mouth and nose. The cruelty he endured is almost unimaginable, yet Juney’s spirit remained unbroken. Juney’s path to recovery was fraught with difficult decisions. Initially, veterinarians suggested re-fracturing Juney’s jaw to correct the damage, but the procedure carried significant risks and would have been extremely traumatic. After careful consideration and spending time with Juney, the team at Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. opted for dental surgery instead. This decision proved to be life-changing for Juney. The surgery improved his ability to eat comfortably, and while his injuries remain cosmetically visible, they no longer cause him pain.
