UAB recommends alternative travel routes as students move in

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — UAB Transportation is recommending traveling another route to work Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. as students start arriving on campus.

According to UAB, students will be moving into residence halls from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. McMahon, Gold and Blazer halls will see the highest amounts of traffic.

Move-in traffic will approach the west campus from I-65 and blend with traditional morning commute traffic. Employees entering campus from I-65 should stay in the left lane down University Boulevard approaching 16th Street South.
