Wilsonville families had the opportunity to find free school supplies, clothes and more at the Gear Up for School event on Saturday, Aug. 16. The annual event is organized by local social services organization Heart of the City.
Along with the free items there was food, a bouncy house and face painters at the event. Free period products and personal hygiene products were also available.
Heart of the City Director Lyn Whelchel said 800 people attended the event last weekend, 430 backpacks were given out and 400 people served chicken quesadillas.
