RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Nearly 4,500 buildings across the Richmond area are currently without power due to a severe thunderstorm Monday afternoon.
According to Dominion Energy’s Outage Map, the following localities are experiencing power outages as of 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19:
- Henrico County: 2,307 outages
- New Kent County: 1,096 outages
- Chesterfield County: 286 outages
- City of Richmond: 191 outages
- Charles City County: 177 outages
- Goochland County: 157 outages
- Hanover County: 88 outages
- King and Queen County: 24 outages
- Prince Edward County: 14 outages
- Powhatan County: 4 outages
- Prince George County: 1 outage
According to Dominion, as of 10:45 p.m., a total of 4,806 buildings serviced by the company are without power across Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. Most of those outages are in the Richmond area.
At the height of the outage, over 12,000 Richmond-area buildings were impacted.
