1 of 3 teens shot at Spring Hill apartment complex dies; 3 charged

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — One of the three teens who was shot Sunday evening at a Spring Hill apartment complex has died, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Three teens were shot at the Mariner’s Cay Apartments and then were driven to a nearby Publix, deputies said. A 16-year-old was taken to a hospital and later died. A 15-year-old and 17-year-old were also shot and are expected to be OK.

The shooting stemmed from a feud between the teens.

Tarian Rush, 18, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to the sheriff’s office. Two other teens were each charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Rush is being held in the Hernando County Detention Center without bond, deputies said. The two other teens were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Ocala.
