No injuries in Kalamazoo house fire

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say no one was injured in a house fire in Kalamazoo early Tuesday morning.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said it received a report of a house fire around 3 a.m. Tuesday on S. Westnedge Avenue near W. Lovell Street.

When crews arrived, KDPS said the vacant house was fully engulfed in flames. As of around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, KDPS said the fire was under control and crews remained on the scene to deal with hot spots.

There are no reports of injuries, according to KDPS.

It’s unknown what caused the fire.

Westnedge Avenue was closed in the area for several hours. It has since reopened.
