The Dollar Tree Ming Avenue location’s grand opening day was Monday and is one of many to come.

When the news broke that 99 Cent Stores would be shut down across the nation, many wondered what they could do to stretch their budgets.

At the end of May, Dollar Tree announced it would take over 170 old 99 Cent Store locations.

Banners that say “Dollar Tree Coming Soon” quickly appeared. Including, here in Bakersfield.
