Northeast New Mexico is under a severe weather alert as strong storms are expected to bring high winds and hail until 8 p.m. today. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a warning for residents in the area to be on high alert as scattered-to-isolated thunderstorms develop, particularly in the late afternoon.
