‘Doing the Little Things Right!’ Bucs QB Baker Mayfield Confident in Offensive Identity

A lot changes within the span of a year, especially within the NFL landscape. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield have encountered that reality since last preseason in a positive light.

Previously thought of as a one-year waiver, Mayfield has since earned a three-year deal that makes him the team’s starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. Mayfield grew as a player through the 2023 season, facing struggles early before settling in and leading the Bucs to the NFC Divisional round.

Now entering his second season with the team, Mayfield views last year as a means for the team to understand its identity heading into the 2024 campaign.

“Every season’s different, but you always think back to where you were at this point last year and I think we have a better identity, so now its really about attacking it and going to get what we’re working for and I feel good about where we’re at,” he said Tuesday .

That stems from a newfound fundamental approach, according to the former first-round pick.
