‘Full house’ in Milpitas busted for illegal gambling operation, police say

(KRON) — A SWAT team raided a house on Mercury Court in Milpitas Tuesday morning and officers found an illegal gambling operation inside, according to the Milpitas Police Department.

There were more than a dozen people inside the home when the SWAT team arrived with a search warrant.

“It was a full house with thirteen suspects detained. Multiple gambling machines, drugs, and drug paraphernalia was found in the house,” MPD wrote.

Eight people were cited for illegal gambling. Two people were booked into jail for outstanding warrants. Two more people were cited for unlawful possession of a gambling machine, and one person will face charges for “operating a drug house,” police said.

“Don’t roll the dice with Illegal gambling in Milpitas. It has no place in our city and will not be tolerated,” MPD wrote.
