Photos show progress of upcoming Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon project

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Construction continues at the site of the future Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon complex in Mettler.

Photos of the ongoing construction were shared with 17 News showing progress on the 700,000-square-foot complex. The first phase of the construction is for the casino itself. But there’s still a long way to go.

The Hard Rock is being built in Mettler near Highway 99 and Highway 166. The groundbreaking took place in December 2023 and the images are the first signs of major movement. The project is not expected to be completed until late 2025.

Once complete the Hard Rock complex is expected to have 400 hotel rooms, a casino, meeting and convention space, a massive resort-style pool, a spa, restaurants, and an entertainment venue.

Hard Rock officials said the complex is to create approximately 5,000 jobs.
