Oregon’s I-5 southbound shut down Thursday morning

KXL radio reports that all lanes of Interstate 5 southbound are shut down as of 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, due to a major crash.

The incident is near the Donald Road interchange and KXL, a media partner of this newspaper, reports that an emergency helicopter has landed to transport one or more injured person.

Northbound lanes have slowed considerably as well.

As of about 6:30 a.m., KXL reported that the travel time from Salem to the Interstate 205 interchange is about one hour, 20 minutes.
