Power outage causes stoplights to go dark in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — A power outage caused stoplights across Spokane to go dark on Wednesday night.

According to Avista, around 9:30 p.m. on August 21, a large power outage affected thousands of customers and caused stoplights to go out in the areas of South Hill and downtown Spokane.

Around 10 p.m., over 9,000 customers were without power.

Avista reported the outage was resolved around 10:50 p.m.

The cause of the outage has not been released.
