BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Attorneys on Thursday said they’re ready for the preliminary hearing of Ricardo Valles, charged with murder in his girlfriend’s death, to proceed as scheduled on Friday.
Valles, 40, is accused of killing Crystal Acevedo, 36, his girlfriend of two months.
She was found badly injured on Aug. 4 and taken to Kern Medical, where she died early Aug. 8.
Court documents detailed the evidence gathered against him.

Valles has a lengthy criminal history — including a conviction for assaulting his mother last year. He’s being held without bail.
