Ohio State Highway Patrol announces location of Stark County OVI checkpoint

CANTON TWP. – The Ohio State Highway Patrol will hold an OVI checkpoint from 8 to 11 p.m. today at 3221 Cleveland Ave. SW.

The patrol said the checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers, and will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols.

“If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink,” the patrol said in a news release announcing the checkpoint. “Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.”
