Fremont teaching assistant arrested for suspicion of child molestation

(KRON) – A California School for the Deaf teaching assistant was arrested for child molestation on Thursday, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The Fremont Police Department Crimes Against Persons Investigation Unit investigated the suspect Brandon Duran. According to police, at least three California School of the Deaf students reported sexual assault incidents, supported by additional witness statements. The alleged abuse occurred in Fremont and Livermore.

According to Fremont PD, the dates of the incidents were July 4 and July 19, 2024.

Duran was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail for the following charges:

  • Annoying and Molesting a Child
  • Oral Copulation with a Minor
  • Oral Copulation with a victim too intoxicated to resist
  • Contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense
  • Unlawful sexual penetration.
