An antiabortion center is suing the state and a nonprofit over the Commonwealth’s public awareness campaign “highlighting the dangers and potential harm of anti-abortion centers.”
Your Options Medical , a chain of crisis pregnancy centers with locations in Brookline, Revere, Fall River and Hyannis, alleges the campaign that Gov. Maura Healey’s administration touted earlier this year as a “first-in-the-nation” education campaign breaches the center’s constitutional rights on religious and political speech.
“Governor Healey and DPH need to be held accountable for using over a million dollars in state resources to defame, threaten, and intimidate pro-life pregnancy resource centers,” Your Options Medical’s legal representatives told Boston.com in a statement.
Your Options Medical is being represented by Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center, which was launched by conservative Christian group Massachusetts Family Institute.
