Before local youths head off to start the school year, there are some important days for parents to mark down on their calendars. The following school districts each start the year on Monday: Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Manchester, Milan, Saline and Ypsilanti. That means no school on Friday, Aug. 30, and Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day weekend.
