As a person who has experienced firsthand the trauma of gun violence, I am so pleased to see that Everytown for Gun Safety has designated Aug. 26-30 as the first annual SMART Week. SMART Week is a time when we can come together to spread the word on the critical importance of secure gun storage to prevent gun violence.
