A man died in a hospital in Pomona on Wednesday after he sustained injuries from an assault in April, according to the Kern County coroner’s office. Rodolfo Arredondo III, 58, of Bakersfield was involved in an altercation in the 2200 block of Chester Avenue just before midnight on April 27, according to the coroner. Bakersfield Police Department spokesman Sgt. Eric Celedon said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
