COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is asking for the public’s help to support its pups on National Dog Day.
In a social media post, the shelter announced that it is “running low on treats” for the dogs in its care. The agency noted that “treats are more than just a tasty snack” and that the various biscuits and chewy bones “are a great tool when building trust with new and shy dogs, provide enrichment, and help our dogs to feel more comfortable in the shelter environment.”
Donations of any dog treat brand are welcome and can be made in person 24 hours a day at the shelter’s weatherproof donation shed near the “lost dogs” entrance, according to the shelter. The shelter is located at 4340 Tamarack Blvd. in Columbus.
The shelter also included a link in its post to an online wishlist for those who want to contribute without the drive.
