Public Survey Ends Sept. 1 for Pima County’s Sonoran Corridor

TUCSON — The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is encouraging public feedback on the proposed Sonoran Corridor freeway in Pima County, which aims to connect Interstates 10 and 19 south of Tucson International Airport.

The public survey, which is part of the ongoing study for the project, will close on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to ADOT.

The survey will help determine interchange locations and other design features for the approximately 20-mile route, also known as State Route 410.

Additionally, the feedback will assist the ADOT study team in evaluating whether changing conditions in the rapidly growing area should influence the future alignment of the corridor, according to ADOT.

This study will:

  • Envision a narrow 400-foot wide corridor within the identified 2,000-foot corridor that provides a continuous high-capacity freeway extending from I-19 to I-10 within Pima County.
  • Identify environmental considerations and mitigation efforts.
  • Identify interchange locations and design concepts.
  • Develop other design features.
