Woods fire Monday afternoon in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Firefighters in Mobile battled a blaze in the woods Monday afternoon . Firefighters were called to the 5900 block of Old Rangeline Road at about 1:30 pm.

It was on the eastside of the road and north of the Theodore Industrial Park near Dauphin Island Parkway. Crews from Theodore Dawes Fire Department, St. Elmo Fire department and the Alabama Forestry Commission came to help.

Fire officials say they were able to contain the blaze. No homes or structures were damaged and no one was hurt. The east side of Old Rangeline Road appears to be a wooded area and fire officials say they “were able to stop the fire early on in a couple of areas where very small spot fires had started on the west side of the road, near a couple of homes.”
