CEDAR RAPIDS – A Cedar Rapids family is pretty upset after they say their five-year-old walked out of Pierce Elementary School unnoticed Monday morning. John Thompson, the child’s father, told the Cedar Rapids School Board at Monday evening’s meeting that his daughter thought she was in trouble during recess, so she left to find her brother. Unable to find him, she assumed he had left without her and decided to walk out of the school.
