Typical late day summer storms this week

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The last week of meteorological summer will be like summer with highs in the low 90s, chance for late day storms and heat indices in the triple digits. We will once again see the collision of the west coast sea breeze and the overall easterly winds and east coast sea breeze inland. It is along this meeting of differing winds that we will see convergence set up and storms form. With adequate moisture throughout the atmosphere we will see some big rain at times. These storms will move westerly toward the coast very slowly and could dump up to 2-3 inches of rainfall where the storms develop and slowly move.
