Restoring river, creating park at former horse racetrack lands state support

LANSING, MI – The state is backing a project that will restore a river currently buried in concrete and create a new public park at Michigan’s last horse racetrack. The Michigan Strategic Fund approved a $2 million Brownfield tax incentive during its Tuesday, Aug. 27 board meeting to support redeveloping 7.85 acres of the former Northville Downs racetrack in Wayne County. Hunter Pasteur, a southeast Michigan developer, is spearheading the effort.
