Child kidnapped out of Louisiana found safe in Mississippi

MADISON COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Police said a child, who was kidnapped in Louisiana, was found safe in Mississippi.

According to Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) alerted his department about a possible custodial kidnapping out of Louisiana.

Myers said a Ridgeland officer located a vehicle matching the description, and the officer waited for assistance from other units to prevent a chase.

The police chief said the Ridgeland officers, along with Madison police, were able to stop the vehicle. The child is safe, according to Myers.
