In the coming weeks, the Birmingham City Council will vote on funding for Woodlawn United to begin construction on eight apartments on Georgia Road. The project is a part of a development that would include the apartments and 12 townhomes. Mashonda Taylor is the CEO of Woodlawn United. She says the organization has built more than 100 houses and apartments in the Woodlawn neighborhood.
