4 arrested in Bay Area online child sex predator sting

(KRON) – The San Jose Police Department said officers arrested four men who allegedly intended to commit sexual offenses against children.

The department’s Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail Task Force said they conducted a four-day investigation from Aug. 12 to Aug. 16 that entailed online communication from the suspects who were arranging to meet with a minor for sex.

The suspects SJPD arrested in this investigation are the following:

  • Jonathan Nunez, 32, of Watsonville
  • Carlos Mendez, 37, of Hayward
  • Christopher Roark, 23, of Antioch
  • Christopher Hus, 35, of Los Gatos

San Jose State University student dies in dorm room

All suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Jail for crimes related to attempting to communicate with a minor for sex.

San Jose PD said in Hus’ arrest, he fled the area as detectives and special operations personnel were attempting to detain him. Detectives subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Hus. The suspect was later detained in Union City by the California Highway Patrol.
